Metaplanet has added 780 Bitcoin to its reserves for roughly ¥13.67 billion ($92.5 million), boosting its total holdings to 17,132 Bitcoin.
The purchase reflects growing institutional momentum in Asia’s Bitcoin adoption trend.
A July 28th filing revealed the coins were acquired at an average price of ¥17.52 million ($118,622) per Bitcoin.

The company’s total Bitcoin assets are now valued at approximately ¥301.7 billion ($2.03 billion), continuing a buying spree that began in April 2024.
In 2025, Metaplanet’s Bitcoin holdings have sharply increased, yielding a 129.4% return in Q2 and a 22.5% yield so far in Q3. The firm uses BTC Yield as a metric to gauge Bitcoin growth against equity dilution.
The latest purchase was funded via several capital raises, specifically from the 20th to 22nd Series of Stock Acquisition Rights.
Globally, over 200 public companies now collectively hold more than $100 billion in Bitcoin, highlighting the rising adoption of Bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset.
