Metaplanet Inc. has acquired 797 additional Bitcoin, bringing its total holdings to 16,352 Bitcoin. The purchase, valued at ¥13.798 billion, was made at an average price of ¥17.31 million per Bitcoin.

The company’s overall Bitcoin investment now totals ¥239.616 billion, with an average acquisition cost of ¥14.65 million per Bitcoin.

This acquisition is part of Metaplanet’s new “555 Million Plan,” which aims to accumulate 210,000 Bitcoin by the end of 2027. It replaces the earlier “21 Million Plan,” which targeted 21,000 Bitcoin by 2026.

Between July 1 and July 14, 2025, the company reported a Bitcoin yield of 19.4%, resulting in a gain of 2,590 Bitcoin and ¥45.199 billion.

This is based on a BTC/JPY reference rate of ¥17.45 million and reflects the company’s key performance indicator tracking Bitcoin per fully diluted share.

Metaplanet has also been named title sponsor of Bitcoin Asia 2025, scheduled for August 28th–29th in Hong Kong.

With 16,352 Bitcoin held, Metaplanet is the largest corporate Bitcoin holder in Asia and ranks fifth globally.

“We’re excited to gather in Hong Kong at what we believe is the inflection point of the Bitcoin decade. Institutional interest across Asia is accelerating,” said Simon Gerovich, CEO of Metaplanet.

“Our sponsorship of Bitcoin Asia reflects our intent to engage more deeply with the region’s most sophisticated capital allocators. Bitcoin is a foundational asset for long-term capital formation, and we remain focused on advancing a Bitcoin-first capital allocation framework through our actions in the public markets.”
